Midori Tanimune Memorial Teaching Scholarship Fund
Objective Midori Tanimune dedicated her life to teaching and promoting ikebana. The Memorial Scholarship Fund will continue her life-long objective to promote and support ikebana students to expand their ikebana training and experience. The goal of the scholarship is to increase the number of certified ikebana sensei that are actively teaching.
Applicants can apply for funds to cover associated fees to participate in:
Workshops/Training
Conferences
Demonstrations
Qualifications:
Demonstrated talent and commitment to ikebana
Committed to teaching ikebana
Interested in expanding their training
Recommendation:
A recommendation by the ikebana teacher should be sent to [email protected].
Deadline:
Applications must be received at least 6 months prior to the event.
What is the purpose of the Teaching Scholarship?
Our primary goal is to increase the number of certified ikebana teachers practicing in North America by promoting and supporting ikebana students and teachers who wish to expand their ikebana training towards teacher training.

Are there programs not covered by this scholarship?
Lessons taken with one’s teacher in the normal process of personal advancement for certification would not be covered.

Anyone interested in expanding their training.

Yes!
How do I apply for this scholarship?
Use the Memorial Scholarship Form on the website.
A letter of recommendation from your teacher must accompany the application along with other supporting documents as described on the form.
Are there application deadlines?
Applications must be received 6 months prior to the event.
How long will it be before I hear I have been awarded a scholarship?
● You will be informed as soon as possible after receiving all the required materials with your application.
If my application is denied, may I apply again in the future?
● Yes, you may apply again.
If I have received a scholarship in the past, may I apply again?
Yes, but first-time applicants will be given priority.
