The purpose of the annual award is to honor those that have committed to promoting, supporting, and growing ikebana through their dedication and volunteerism.
The focus of the inaugural award will honor outstanding commitment as an Ikebana Service Volunteer.
Eligibility Any organization may nominate only one volunteer from their organization each year.
Must have served beyond simple membership in the organization.
Must not have been a prior recipient of the award.
Must have volunteered with the organization for at least five years.
Must be nominated by an ikebana organization.
Required information
The nominating organization name
The nominating organization’s contact name, email address and phone number.
The nominee’s name, email address and phone number.
A detailed description of the nominee’s achievements.
A minimum of two signed testimonial letters. The letters must be from two different people. The testimonial writers should:
know the nominee
be able to explain the value and impact of the nominee’s achievements
support the nomination
maximum 700 words per testimonial
The testimonial writers’ first name, last name, email address and phone number.
Nomination Dates Nominations will be accepted from February – April 2025.
Selection Process The Ikebana Iwaya Fund Board or a designated committee will review and select the award winner.
Award Date The Patricia O’Reilly Award will be announced on June 1, 2025

The award honors Patricia O'Reilly who served exemplary roles for the ikebana community. She served as President of I.I. Dallas Chapter #13, Director of Sogetsu Dallas, Chair of the 18th North and Central American Regional Conference (Dallas, 2019) and as I.I. NCAR Advocate (2019-2024).
