Iwaya Poinsettia Festival 2025
As nature slips into its wintery slumber in the northern Hemisphere we look inward and indoors to celebrate many important cultural and religious holidays. From Diwali to Bodhi Day, Hanukkah to Simbang Gali, Saint Lucia Day to Kwanzaa, Christmas and Boxing Day to New Years and Three Kings Day each celebration shows the beauty of who we are as a people. The simple Poinsettia unites us all in these festivities.
It is a great privilege to promote and support the ikebana community throughout the world. Ikebana Iwaya Fund serves to create community and connection. This virtual exhibition was a beautiful gift to us. It wasn't widely advertised, spreading mostly by word of mouth. We want to thank every ikebanist who responded with their art and the many friends who passed along the opportunity. It was heartwarming to witness the interconnectedness. Friend to friend, country to country.
This video is a celebration of not just a flower but of artists validating each other.
In ikebana we acknowledge that the spaces between branches create an unseen positive energy known as “Ma.” Ikebana Iwaya Fund hopes that you feel the space between each of these arrangements, for between every Poinsettia is something unseen - Peace, Joy and Love.
