As an independent non-profit organization, we are able to provide funds to any ikebana organization or for any partnership with organizations that will promote any ikebana-related activities.

Standard Grants are funded from donations to our General Fund and dividends from our Endowment Fund. Applications are accepted year-round, but we ask applicants to apply at least six months to one year before their event or program. This lead time allows us to fully partner with you and gives us adequate time for outreach and publicity.

INNOVATION CHALLENGE GRANT
Awarded annually, the Innovation Challenge Grant provides up to $5,000 to help jump-start new pathways for ikebana. Applications are accepted between January 1 – February 28.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Our goal is to increase the number of certified ikebana teachers practicing in North America by supporting ikebana students who are interested in teacher training. Applicants must apply at least six months prior to the program.

What does the Iwaya Fund provide grants for?
Grants are provided to ikebana organizations (e.g. - I.I. Chapters, Ikebana Groups/Branches) for any ikebana related events and activities to promote the art.
how do i apply for a grant?
Submit the Grant Request Form with as much information as possible. We often contact the applicant for more information during our evaluation process.
are there application deadlines?
We accept applications throughout the year but a minimum of a six month lead is recommended.
WE ARE NOT A Non-profit. CAN WE APPLY?
Yes, any organization may apply regardless of their tax status.
Can I apply for funds as an individual?
A qualified individual may apply for a grant. Their application must demonstrate need and maximum public outreach to be considered.
Is there a specific range of financial support for which I can apply?
Each application is evaluated based on the specific activity and other competing grants. The range of support is dependent upon available funds.
How long will it be before I hear if I have been awarded a grant?
Once your application is submitted, a member of our team will reach out to begin the review process. Please allow 1–2 months to receive a funding decision.
If I am approved for a grant, will I need to submit documentation upon conclusion?
We kindly ask to complete the Grant Report Form.
Does Iwaya Fund consider multi-year grants?
Yes, for a term not to exceed three years and subject to annual review after the submission of a yearly progress report.
If my application is declined, may I apply again in the future?
Yes, you may apply again.
If I have received a grant in the past, may I apply again?
Yes, you are welcome to apply again. However, the likelihood for funding for a similar project within two years is unlikely.
Does the Iwaya Fund provide funding outside the United States?
Grants outside of the United States may be possible. Contact us for more details.
